For many researchers tracing immigrant ancestors, German church books are vital sources that quickly become difficult to decipher because of old script, archaic vocabulary, and unfamiliar record formats. During this meeting, Theresa shared clear methods for transcribing these historical records, walking attendees through baptism, marriage, and burial registers while pointing out common terminology and handwriting patterns.
The meeting also featured a brief presentation on the Salado Museum and College Park, highlighting their work in preserving the history of Salado and the historic Salado College campus.
